Snow Couple

Snow is coming - some day. It has been an unusually warm fall but I know snow
can't be far away. This snow couple is enjoying the snowy weather.

The stamp is from stubby stampers and is colored with copics. The snowflake die is from Darice. The design paper is from bo bunny. I just love this stamp.

Give Thanks

My church has an English as a Second Language Class and we decided to have a Thanksgiving dinner for the class and their families. I made these cards for the invitations.

The stamps are for The Angel Company and colored with prisma color pencils. The words are stamped with a brown memento ink. The dp is from bobunny. The scalloped die cut is from spellbinders. The tag one is from lawn fawn. The little red dots are nail head stickers. The cards worked up pretty quickly which was good as I made 15 of them.

Happy Birthday

Here is a quick happy birthday card using Stubby Stamps.

The confetti squares are stamped with a small confetti stamp in ocean depth versamagic chalk ink and then punched out with a square punch. The scalloped squares are die cuts from spellbinders. The happy birthday is stamped in black and then another die cut from spellbinders and edged in the ocean depth ink. There is another die cut in the blue just peaking out from the white. The plaid paper is from lawn fawn and the blue from bobunny. Great when you need a quick card. I made this on the same day I worked 12 hours.

Bridal Cupcakes

I saw a similar card when I was checking someone out at Target and knew I had to come home and recreate it. The original was by Papyrus. Mine is a bit different but I like it every bit as well.

The stamp is from Stubby Stampers. I think the cupcakes are really supposed to be birthday cupcakes but I think they work here just fine. The black cupcake liner is stamped on sparkly black cardstock and embossed with black diamond embossing powder. The mustache is a diecut from Memory Box. The white cupcake liner is stamped on a glittery off-white cardstock and embossed with white diamond embossing powder. The hardest part was finding the string of pearls. I knew I had some but couldn't remember where I put it. lol. The pearls are attached with scor-tape. The flower at the top is done with three flowers layered on top of each other with one pearl from the string on top. A little bit of stickles star dust was applied to the stars on the frosting. The scalloped paper is 8 x 8 by DCWV and folded in half. The dp is from Lawn Fawn. A length of organza ribbon runs under the cupcake layer. Such a fun bridal card.

Presents

This is a pretty simple card, but I thought it turned out well.

The stamp is from Art Impressions and colored with copics. Some stardust stickles is on the flames. The ribbon is wrapped around the card to look like a present. The scalloped square is a die from spellbinders. That's it.

Christmas Tilda

This card started out 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" and was supposed to be done but somehow it didn't "speak" to me so I ripped it apart and now I like it.

Tilda is colored with prisma color pencils on Kraft paper as are the poinsettias. The poinsettia centers have stickles applied to them. The dp is from Basic Grey. The holly is from memory box and is left over from another card. There is a strip of organza ribbon then a narrow silk ribbon with half pearls on top. The red sequins are from Queen & Co.
Christmas is coming soon, I might be ready with cards - maybe. lol

Birthday Cupcake

Two posts in two days. I am on a roll.
This card also uses stubby stamper's stamps.
I stamped the presents twice across the bottom using marvy matchables ink. The cupcake is colored with copics and a white pen made the dots on the paper and the bits of white in the frosting. The flames have stardust stickles on them. The circle and the scallops are from spellbinders nestabilities. The yellow dotted paper is from bobunny. A pretty quick card. It's nice to do something that works up quickly sometimes. :)

One stamp two cards

This Stubby Stamper's stamp spoke to me in two ways - one as a birthday card and one as a Christmas card.
Here the candles are a birthday card and colored with copics. The red background is done with Stubby Stampers stamp as are the words. The border around the words was done by leaving the paper in the die and tracing around it on the inside. The flames have star dust stickles. And then there are some Queen & Co. sequins around.

Now on to the Christmas card.
Once again the candle is colored with copics. I put a jar around the flame and put a row of dots around the jar and then added some more rows of lighter dots around the first. The flame has stickles star dust on it. The holly around the base of the candle are a holly border die cut from Memory Box. I cut the border into smaller pieces and glued them around the base of the candle. For the berries I used red stickles. The ribbon is from a florist shop in town. They asked if I was going to make a bunch of bows - no it is for cards, of course. lol.
Have fun thinking of more than one way to use a stamp.

Tilda with Parasol

For some reason I love stamps with umbrellas or parasols. Who knows why. lol Maybe I like rain but this Tilda is carrying a parasol so no rain.

She is colored with copics with a bit of a white pen for accents. The shoes have diamond glaze on them so they are patent leather just like I wore as a little girl. For the ruffles I used frosted lace stickles for a bit of sparkle and texture. The flower in the corner is a piece of twill tape that I gathered with a needle and thread (sewing is my other love) and then three tiny pearls for the center. I edged the plaid paper with a blue versa chalk ink and the yellow paper with yellow versa chalk ink.  I think Tilda is a cutie. You never would guess by how often I use her would you.

Fishers of Men

This stamp seemed to just appear on my desk. I have had it for several years and had never stamped it. I guess it thought it was time to be used.

The stamp is one from the now defunct angel company. It is colored with copic markers. There is a swirly clip in the top corner. I'm not sure where the charm in the bottom corner is from. I had used it on another project that my cats nicely destroyed. :( The borders are washi tape. The red die cut is from memory box. A guy card for my stash. Yeah! Hope you enjoy.

Christmas in July 3

I'm still working on Christmas cards. I'll start to panic closer to Christmas and chose one design and make multiples but for now I am just making different cards.
I used an old angel company stamp and colored it with prisma color pencils. The flame has some stickles. The Kraft paper is dry embossed with a darice embossing folder. Afterwards I rubbed staz-on white over the raised parts. Ribbon is behind the image and lots of Queen & Co. sequins are scattered around. Little dots of red stickles are on some of the raised dots on the background.
Merry July!

Christmas in July 2

I've been teased and severely chastised for not making more Christmas cards early so I don't have to make them in a panic so here is another one.
The stamp is from stubby stampers. I colored it with tombow markers and then used a water brush to spread the colors. The center has flower soft that I colored myself with an ink. The dp is from lawn fawn as are the sequins. The label is from memory box. I punched the holes in the sides and wrote the words myself. The twine is from Target and the ribbon from a florist shop in town.
Merry July Christmas!

Christmas in July

I wanted to do a card the 25th of every month. Somehow that didn't happen - but this month it did.
The bell and the vine at the bottom are both magnolia stamps and colored with copics. The ribbon on the bell has diamond glaze. The vine at the bottom was stamped once right side up and once upside down to make it a longer vine and then a ribbon is attached to hide where they overlap. I used four scraps of paper around the bell. The green is DCWV and embossed and then sanded over the dots so the white shows through.
Merry Christmas! lol

Tilda Peek-a-Boo

It is sooo hot outside so I stayed inside and created this card.

I used Peek-a-boo Tilda and colored her with copics. I cut out her hand so it would come around the window frame which is a die from sizzix. The flowers and vines are from another sizzix die set. The dp from bo bunny is edged with a blue color box ink. The lace is from Target.
Hope you enjoy peeking out the window at some wonderful scene.

Tilda Fairy

I hadn't used a Tilda stamp in a long time. This stamp just had birthday written all over it, so I used it for a cousin who had a birthday this week.

She is colored with copics. The wand has some stickles. I used lots of different designer papers. Two of the strips are ribbon from a florist shop in town. They asked me if I was going to use the ribbon to make bouquets. lol Of course not -  the ribbon was going on a card. They thought that was cool. Then I added some sequins.
Wishing you a great day.

Happy

I love butterflies and so I make lots of cards using butterflies. This card uses stamps from Stubby Stampers.
All the dp is from Basic Grey which is now defunct :(. The little butterflies and word are stamped with opera pink versacolor pigment ink. The big butterfly is a die cut from Impression Obsession and has star dust stickles applied to it. The smallest square that the butterflies are stamped on is a die cut from die-namics. I have to say I like the way they package their dies with a magnetic sheet to hold the dies in place - so much better than the double sided tape that some use. I may have to get lots of magnetic sheets to store all my dies. :) The word happy is from a stamp that said happy birthday. I cut the words apart and just used happy. On the inside I stamped both words together.
Hope your day is happy!

Sunset

I've seen a lot of beautiful sunsets recently so I had to try to recreate one. Of course God does a better job of creating the real ones. We are made in His image and like to create as well.

The image is from Impression Obsession. The word blessings is from an old Angel Company stamp set. The image is stamped on the smooth side of watercolor paper and colored with a brush and distress inks. The sun is done by stamping the yellow in a punched out hole. The bird is a die cut from memory box.

Flamingo

I saw this stamp set from Hero Arts used on another blog and when I saw it in my local stamp store I had to purchase it.
The first layer of the flamingo is stamped with marvy matchables bubble gum pink and then #9 pink and lastly versa color opera pink. The beak is done with memento black. There is a die cut flamingo to cut out the flamingo. I usually just cut out my images by hand but decided to try using the die cut. I think I need a little practice to get it just right.  The yellow background was done with shades of reds and yellow chalk ink rubbed directly on the paper and then the plants were stamped on with more chalk ink. The words were memento black ink. The dark strip on the side is a dark sparkly green although it doesn't shoe up. The water is stamped with a  light blue chalk ink and then a darker blue/green ink where the flamingo is standing and then stickles over top. Flamingos may be a new obsession. lol

Retirement

My cousin just retired when I saw this stamp and knew I had to make him a card.

The image is from Great Impressions and is colored with copics. The paper is from bo bunny. Not sure where the ribbons are from.  The dots are candy dots from pebbles.

Bildie Girl

Holley sent me this stamp from her yearly celebration of life. I have always loved the  Bildmalarna  stamps so this was perfect for me.

The dress is paper pieced from a bobunny dp and then colored with copics as is the rest of the image. The rest of the dp is from basic grey. The lace is from Holly as well. The flower is one I had laying about my desk so I decided to add it.
Thank you, Holley.

Trio of flowers

Here is a card using a stamp from the now defunct Angel Company. I have kept almost all my stamps from the company as I bought to create not to sell as a rule.
I colored the stamp with watercolor crayons and then spritzed the stamp with water. Did this three times as the stamp is just a single rose.  I put just a touch of stickles on the flowers. The scalloped edge is a die cut from nestabilities. The paper is from bobunny. I think that is my last piece :(. I made three loops to the bow and then tied it with scrapper's floss. It looked a bit off so I added the button and tied the floss through it. I liked that better.
Happy creating!

Flower

It has been forever since I have posted anything. I have been creating but sewing and making cards I can't share yet. And then tragedy struck my family. My sister passed away suddenly. Fortunately I was able to go visit her one last time before the end. She will be greatly missed by many.
Back to happier subjects. My card -
I made this card originally at a class at my local stamp store but it didn't turn out well. Not because their design was bad but I made a mess of it. That happens. The only thing left from the original card is the oval flower with the hummingbird. The scallops around the image is a diecut from shapeabilities. I don't remember what stamp company this flower is from. The image is colored with distress ink. The bird is a diecut from memory box. The paper is from basic grey. The ribbon is some I have had forever and was laying about and as it looked good with the paper it was added. I'll try to add my sewing creations in a bit. Hope you enjoy this card.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, I had to make a sympathy card. I didn't want it to be somber because I know this wonderful man is heaven now and free from cancer. Hopefully, it brought a bit of cheer to his dear wife.

The image is from stubby stampers and is colored with prisma watercolor pencils and blended with a dove blender pen. The image is mounted onto a piece of green bazzill card stock and mounted on the card with 3M mounting tape. The background was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing plate and then a yellow chalk ink was rubbed over the top of the raised image and a white wink of Stella brushed over that. The flower was done with a my favorite things die and once again the white stella ink is applied to the petals. A half pearl is in the center. The leaves were cut from a green flower. Yellow organza ribbon and a cream twine are tied around the top layer.

Flowers two ways.

Here are a couple of cards using the same stamp. Don't you love when you can get completely different looks from the same stamp.
She is colored with copic markers and her dress is paper pieced with one of my favorite papers from basic grey. The flowers are colored with copics but have lots of different sequins added. More basic grey paper is used for the background and a layer of ribbon which I took off a wreath that needed updating.
Here is the next card.

I cut off the  girl and just used the flowers which are colored with copics. The dp is from basic grey. The ribbon is from Target's "Bullseye's Playground" Section. Hello is hand written with a white ink pen. A double bow was added at the base of the flowers so it isn't obvious that the flowers were cut off the little girl's hands. It works!
This stamp and some others are available on sale at Stubby Stampers.

Green Edwin

My son-in-law was born on St. Patrick's Day but is 100% Italian. So I have to make him a St. Paddy birthday card every year. He wants my granddaughter to play soccer so I chose Edwin playing soccer.

Dear Edwin is colored with copics. The dp and the Irish blessing are from Authentique. Two rows of green ribbon complete the card. Hope he enjoys it.

Ice Cream Tilda

I usually don't do cards so fancy but this one just seemed to take on a life of its own.
I colored this Tilda with distress inks. I think I need some more practice but she turned out ok. There is crystal stickles on the ruffle and cuffs of Tilda's overalls. The lace is some leftover from my daughter's wedding veil that I made. The dark purple paper around the edge is suede paper. The next layer is from Authentique. And then there is a scrap of another paper. The shiny purple around Tilda is a die cut from Stampibilities. It is a rectangle scallop that I cut in half and overlapped one scallop to make it the right size. The flowers are from primaflowers and have half pearls in the centers. A few pink sequins are around the edge and a crinkle ribbon bow complete the card.

Bunny Family

I got this stamp from magnalious quite a while ago and never used it. Easter is right around the corner so it was time to change that.
All the bunnies are stamped with distress inks. The grass was done with distress ink and a water brush. The sky was done with a wet sponge and distress ink. I can't believe how much distress ink I have and never use. I just need more hours so I can use up all my supplies. lol. The tails have little pompoms on them. The bunny paper is from magnolious as well. I tied some twine around the bottom and that was it. Pretty simple. And no coloring. Oh my!

Bunny

I took a class at my local stamp store last night and had to have this stamp as it reminded me of the bunnies my mother used to sell.
The stamp is from PrintWorks and is colored with copics as are the white flowers. All the pink and the flowers have clear wink of Stella added. The green leaves were one flower that I cut up to make leaves. The center of the flowers have half pearls for centers. There are pink sequins down the side. There are two rows of satin measuring tape ribbon along the bottom.

Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go so I can buy more stamps that I really don't need but want. :)

Hearty Tilda

What do you do when you open your mouth and put your foot in it - I send a Tilda card saying I'm sorry. She is colored with copics. The lace and hearts have pink glitter glue from Target's one spot on them. There sparkly candy dots down the one side. The gold paper is a scrap I had laying about as are the other dp's. The corners are punched with an EK Success punch and then some pink twine is woven in the holes.
using gold, pink and green.

Sailor Edwin

Thought I would use Edwin this time. He is just as cute as Tilda, even though there aren't near as many Edwin's as Tilda's.

Sailor Edwin is colored with copics. His flashlight has stardust stickles. The dp is all basic grey. They wouldn't be making anymore paper. :( Always loved their paper. The frame and label at the bottom are  diecuts from shapeabilities. Gros grain ribbon is down both sides. The one has a yellow circle clip and the other side is 3 yellow pez-a-bling squares. I left the label at the bottom blank so I could add whatever sentiment I needed when I send him off.

Christmas in February

I almost didn't make it but I did finish my Christmas card for February 25th. I hadn't used a Tilda stamp in a long time so I decided I should remedy that. I love Tilda.

What a comedy of errors this card was. I hadn't planned on using the burgundy ribbon but I put the tape too high for the lace so I either had to put the lace too high or add something. I elected to add the ribbon. I was going to put a little wooden tree where the poinsettia is. I was trying to make the tree green and it dropped and I couldn't find it so I put the hero arts poinsettia with a gold dew drop in the center instead. (then I found the tree, oh well.) Tilda is colored with prisma color and spectrum noir pencils. The tree is a die cut from memory box. The top has a dew drop and all the other flowers have gold stickles on them. The lace is from Target's One Spot.
Merry February 25th!

Kite Girl

I made this card using scraps I had laying about. even the image was just laying around. Gotta use up some of those scraps. They are just having more and more babies.:)

The image is a digi from Saturated Canary. I colored her using my new Spetrum Noir pencils. I had heard a bunch of good things about them so I had to get them. I only bought the pink set as I wanted to check them out before I bought them all. Well.... here is my opinion - the jury is still out. I want to try them on some other paper before I make a final verdict. Not sure if this was the best paper for these pencils. The papers are all scraps and I'm not sure who makes all of them. The lace and flowers were from Target's one spot. a few sequins and a half pearl and a little bit of star dust stickles complete the card. The blue and green colors are done with prisma color pencils.

Umbrellas

I don't know why but images of umbrellas intrigue me. So here is a card using a stamp from stubby stampers.

The image is colored with copics. The raindrops and puddles have blue wink of stella on them. The strips of blue and red are from bobunny. The yellow is a scrap of yellow cardstock. The die cut with the words is from shapeabilities. I wrote the words myself and put a gel pen in the holes to make them stand out more.
What other words would you use with this image? I'm sure there are some cute ideas you could use.

Sketch Cards

I saw this technique to make your image look like a sketch. So of course I had to try it.

The image is from stubby stampers. It is stamped with black and colored with white, gray, and black prisma color pencils. I added a scrap of pink paper and some sequins. Pretty simple.

Here is another sketch card only I added a bit of color.

The corners are punched but there is no markings on the punch as to who makes is. The reds are die cuts from shapeablities. The coloring goes so fast because you don't need to be perfect.

Pink Penguin

Well the penguin isn't pink but it is a card with lots of pink and a penguin.

This little guy is from Great.... well I can't remember but he is cute. He is colored with copics. The snowflakes have start dust stickles. The hearts are from a border punch from fiscars. I have no recollection where the love stamp is from and I'm just too lazy to get up and look. It is probably retired from somewhere as it is pretty old. I tend to keep my stamps for a long time. The border of embossed snowflakes is from Darice. (that one I remembered. lol) There is pink twill tape and pink and cream twine wrapped over the twill tape. The scalloped circle is a die cut from nestabilities.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Valentine Nellie

I made a few Valentine's Day cards. Here is my first one. I made it for my granddaughter who has an elephant theme for her room. Actually it is her mother who decided that for her as she is only 10 months old. But I like elephants so I'm thrilled.

The stamp is from Wild Rose Studio and colored with copics. The papers are all scraps that were sitting around. I have too many scraps so I thought I should use some. lol One little heart punch from a scrap punch out from a fiscars border punch. The rest of the dots are sequins.
Hope you enjoy. I do enjoy reading your comments.

Christmas 25th

I'm going to try to make at least one Christmas card on the 25th of each month so I can maybe have a small stash when Christmas comes and I won't have to rush so.
This card could actually be a Valentine's Day card even though the flower is a poinsettia.

The stamp is from stubby stampers and colored with copics. The center has some yellow stickles and the rest is outlined with stardust stickles. The border is done with a fiskars border punch. The die cuts are from nestabilitites. The pink twill tape is tied with pink and cream twine to make a bow.

Polar Friends

It is my son's birthday in a couple of days so of course I had to make him a card.
He always loved polar bears as a child so I still make him polar bear cards. What else would a mother do? lol
The image is from Wild Rose Studio and colored with copics. The dp is from bobunny. Not sure if you can tell but it is a shaker card filled with glitter and a few sequins. The sequins are also glued around the borders. The words are from an old angel company stamp set. The snowflake in the corner is a wooden ornament from Target last year.
We are getting a bit of snow this evening so this is a perfect card for the weather.
