Tire Swing

My color challenge for today was purple and brown. Brown goes with everything right. I remember when I was little I was supposed to be going to sleep but I was coloring in the dark instead. I thought I was coloring a teddy bear brown but when I woke in the morning it was purple. I used an eyelet to make a tire swing. The butterfly is a gold paper charm that I colored purple with markers. Every Wednesday Danni has a butterfly challenge so stop by her blog and check out her butterfly at http://www.dannisdreamscrafts.blogspot.com/

Slide Mailer

I had never heard of slide mailers until I had to do one for Rubber Road Adventures. I am on their design team. To see the instructions you have to go to http://rubberroadadventures.ning.com/. I usually don't do this kind of project but it was great fun.

Boys and Girls

Since it has been days since I posted I thought I would add two cards. Catherine is paper pieced although it may be hard to tell as the paper was mostly a "solid" patterned paper. Her dress, hat, ribbon and shoes are all paper pieced. The skin is colored with pencil as is the butterfly and her hair is done with copics and pencils. Her dress is highlighted with copics as well. Then I decided she should be standing in a meadow with flowers so I added heather flower soft.
This little guy's shirt and patches are paper pieced, the pants are colored with copics. The skin is colored with pencils and his hair with copics and pencils. He looks like he is about to have a good time on his skate board.

Church

This is a rather different card than I usually make. For one thing I don't usually do buildings. This stamp is from Art necko. Art necko has some great stamps although this is the only one I own. I stamped this on blue bazzill then put vaseline over the building then sprayed it with cornflower Walnut ink. Then I wiped off the vaseline. Terry Moore had a great tutorial on her blog (http://www.terrbear38.blogspot.com/) with a bit of a different twist on it. Or maybe I should say I had a different twist because I didn't have the supplies she had. I added some stickles on the stained glass windows. This is an actual church in Germany. I never saw it when I was in Germany but then they do have so many cool churches.

Sparkles

This was for a challenge to use glitter. I stamped the dress twice, colored the one with copics and then cut just the dress out. I ran it through my xyron machine upside down so the sticky side was next to the stamped area. After I made sure the stickies were stuck to the dress well I pealed off the paper and sprinkled it with glitter. I put diamond glaze on the brads and then added some pink glitter.

Miss Turtle

I got this stamp because my dd's friend loves turtles and because it is just too cute. I had stamped and colored this image for another project but it didn't work out. I was in my studio tonight being very tired and decided to use it. Miss Turtle is colored with pencils and blended with gamsol. I used souffle pens to add just a bit of dimension on the purple dots, flower centers and edge of the shell. Then I added some yellow souffle pen to the flowers. I couldn't believe I actually used my sewing machine for this card. I love to sew but haven't sewn if just forever. I used to make almost all my clothes and my children's clothes now I haven't used my machine except to mend other people's clothes. Just how sad is that.

Fruit of the Spirit

I didn't know if I was going to like this one after I finished coloring the image so I walked away for a bit and then came back and started adding embellishments and yes I do like it. It is colored with copics and pencils. The fruit of the spirit banner has diamond glaze applied. The bee wings are colored blue and then I added stickles. The leaves are made of two green flowers and there are two flowers with a pearl bauble.

Garden joy

This card and the one below are stamps from the stamp set garden joy by the angel company. Some of this is colored with pencils and some with copics and some spots with both. The dress is paper pieced with some copics for shadows. The flowers have glitter centers. The wheel is a button with some floss tied through the holes. Her hat has a pearl from hero arts. the bauble in the middle of the spiral clip is a pearl from stampingbella. I haven't had time to stamp in a while so I have been having lots of fun.
I made this from a sketch card on a group I belong to. Then I used it for a color challenge besides. The colors are pink, aqua and yellow. The patterned paper is from a basic grey collection. I wrapped floss around the scalloped punch. The flower is from garden joy by the angel company. It is colored with copics. I am still learning how to use them. I think I need a different ink pad because it seems to bleed the ink just a bit. I put clear beads in the center of the flower. The straight scallops were cut with scalloped scissors and then punched with a hole punch. I added the pearl drops. It was a fun card to make even with all the different papers and cuts.

Sea stamp

I love this new 8 x 8 scalloped paper that the angel company is carrying. You fold it and it fits into a legal sized envelope. I stamped flourishes with versamark on the corners and then sanded to add some pattern to the paper. The stamp is from the angel company and is colored with pencils and then painted with pearl ex for a bit of a sheen. I don't know whether you can see that in the picture.

Peanuts

I just loved this. It is the way I want life. I know life can't always be up but I complain so when it is down. I think I must sound just like Lucy to God.

Owly 2

Somehow this owl just didn't look right so I added more flowers and popped the owl out. I think it improved the card.

Owly

Isn't she just a little cutie perched on her branch. I colored her with prisma colored pencils. The little flowers have stickles added. The metallic dark peach paper I got at Office Max. Sometimes you just don't know where you will find good stuff. The ribbon is from the dollar section at Target. In addition to working there sometimes I feel as if I live there. The flower is from Got Flowers? by Prima and the dew drop is from Robin's Nest. Now if I don't get to bed I will be owly in the morning.

Dear Friend

I have had this lace paper for just years and years. Last night it found a use or at least a little portion of it. The beads are dew drops. The little girl is colored with copics and pencils, her clothes and hat are paper pieced and edged with bic markers. The balloons are colored with bic markers and then I applied diamond glaze to them. The little bow is scrappers floss colored with markers. Ribbon is threaded through the tag and fastened with a big staple (fastenator?) The stamps are from the stamp set dear friend from the angel company.
