Nellie

I love elephants as well as lions so here is an elephant card.

I tried to use up some paper that was just lying about from the snow couple card. I have so many paper scraps. I even had the nail head stickers laying on my desk so they went on the corners.
This was almost a disaster. I tend to overfill my copics when refilling them. I opened up the C-1 gray and I had a big blob come out. Fortunately I was able to blend it in the right places.

Lion

I love lions. Goes back to my sorority days, I suppose. Our mascot is a lion.

The stamp is from stamping bella. The image is colored with copics. The dp is from bobunny.
I've decided to make more cards white and then add colors so it is easier to write on the inside and it would be cheaper than using colored paper all the time. We'll see how that goes.

snow people

This is one of my favorite Stubby Stamper Stamps.

Pretty simple. Colored with copics. The snow at the bottom is done with iridescent white scribbles (a fabric paint but who said you couldn't use it on paper). The black dp is from basic grey and the red dotted paper is from bo bunny. That's it. But I think it turned out cute.
I'm still waiting for snow to come to Pittsburgh.

House Mouse Ornament

Here is an ornament I made using a House Mouse Stamp.

The mouse was stamped on a leather round and then again on paper and colored with copics. The paper one was cut out and glued on the leather. The gold scallops and the poinsettia were done with spellbinders.

Poinsettia Cards

I made a few Christmas cards this year using Stubby Stamps.

Scor-tape covered with glitter and colored with zig markers. Merry Christmas is a wooden cut-out from Target's One Spot as is the twine.

Embossed with Egyptian gold and colored with copics. The Merry Christmas is done with an embossing plate from Pat Catan's and colored with copics.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Blessing

I hadn't realized it was so long since I posted a card. I was finishing knitting a pair of socks and  not making cards. Today should make up for that. I have six cards to share. They are Thanksgiving cards made with scraps that were laying about. My scraps are by no means used up. lol

Most of the paper is from bobunny but some is basic grey. The stamp is from Stubby Stampers. The hand writing is my own. On a couple I wrote with white ink and it turned pink. I never had that happen before. So then I wrote over the white with a black pen. That was rather difficult. The white ink didn't want to be written on. The stars are done with stickles. A couple of the moons have a wink of stella on them for a bit on sparkle. All images were colored with prisma colored pencils.
May you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Honey Teddy

I don't think I purchased this paper and this stamp together but they sure belong together.

The image from Great Impressions is colored with copics. The dp is from bo bunny. The little dragonfly is a charm that my daughter had gotten when she used to do hairwraps. I got her collection of charms. Lucky me!
Hope you have a honey of day.

Kitty Pumpkins

It is fall and pumpkins rule! lol. I love anything pumpkin. I make pumpkin soup, pumpkin muffins; I think I'll try some pumpkin yogurt. So of course I make pumpkin cards.
The image is from Great Impressions and colored with copic markers. The pumpkins have diamond glaze and glitter sprinkled over it. The dp is from bobunny. The edges around the image are done with Stardust stickles. Brown dotted ribbon and a circle clip finish it off.

Just in case you would like it here is my pumpkin soup recipe:

Cider Pumpkin Soup

¼ cup of margarine                                             1 cup chopped onion
¼ teaspoon ginger                                                ½ teaspoon ground cumin
2 garlic cloves, minced                                       1 ½ cups apple cider
1/4 cup maple syrup                                           1 (29-ounce) can pumpkin
1 (14-ounce) can chicken broth                        ¾ cups milk
1 pint half and half                                             1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
                Broccoli
                Sausage

  1. Heat a large Dutch oven over medium high heat, melt margarine.  Add
onion, ginger, cumin, and garlic cloves and sausage sauté 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Add flour.
Slowly stir in cider, syrup, pumpkin, and broth bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, and simmer
10 minutes.
Stir in milk; and add broccoli cook until thoroughly
heated (do not boil), stirring frequently.

Peter, Peter

For one of my yahoo groups there was a challenge to make a card with a nursery rhyme in mind. Here is mine.
As you can probably tell it is Peter, Peter had a wife and couldn't keep her,
So he put her in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well.
The pumpkin scene is from Great Expectations and colored with copic markers. The mice are from a couple of different House mouse stamps. The dp is from an old Basic Grey collection. It was always one of my favorites. The circle clip has a piece of fiber running through it. Then there is some twill ribbon running behind the image.
Hope your pumpkins are being put to better use than keeping someone - like making pumpkin pie.

Coasters

These are coasters from Target's One Spot. They have plain ones like these and spotted one. Of course I had to have the plain ones so I could stamp on them.

I used a Stubby Stampers stamp and stamped them with White Encore ink. I'm not sure that was the best ink to use I used a heat gun on them and they are still not dry. Probably Staz-on would be best but I didn't have any and wanted to stamp on them. Can you tell I'm impatient sometimes. lol. If they don't dry I'll try to clean them off and get some Staz-on.
But I really wanted to share them in case someone wanted to try them because I'm not sure how long Target will have them.
Well I just tried and the ink just washed right off. I will have to get Staz-on tomorrow. Oh what we do for our art.
Here I used white Staz-on with a light coating of Krylon Satin. I think the staz-on stamped much better. These shouldn't wash off with use.  If you want to try these coasters you should go to Target soon because they won't be available for too much longer.

Danni's Butterfly Birthday Blog Hop

I was so excited when Danni said she was going to do her Flutterby blog hop again for her birthday. I love things with wings especially butterflies so I said I would join in. Here is my creation:

All the stamps I used are from Stubby Stampers here. The images are all colored with copics. The dp is from basic grey. The flowers with brad centers are prima flowers and some from Target's one spot. The words, "On the Wings of Love," are stamped on vellum. The white card stock is torn as is the vellum. The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2".

Danni will be offering 2 separate gift certificates to people who leave comments!
You can comment until Monday, September 7th and she will post the winners on Tuesday, September 8th on her blog http://dannisdreamscrafts.blogspot.com/.
Harriet is next on the list and you can visit her here http://allycatcards.blogspot.com/
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANNI! Hope your day is fantabulous!

Music

I used this stamp and called the image a mandolin but was told it was a guitar. That must mean the book is VERY big. I guess if you are an artist you get to take creative license with the size. :) or maybe there is just a very small instrument that looks like a guitar.
The image is colored with copics. The red dots in between the vines are red stickles. Ribbon is wrapped around the corners and a bow at the bottom. The two cream colored papers are metallic.
I might use this as a Christmas card even though it really isn't a Christmas image. The colors just seem Christmasy to me.

Another birdhouse

I decided to do another birdhouse. I miss having bird feeders now that I am in an apartment. I just haven't figured out how to easily hang and add the bird food.
The stamp is from stubby stampers and is colored with copics. The writing is my own. The dp is from bobunny. The corners are done with a mcgill punch, I believe. (I have a cat on my lap who wouldn't appreciate it if I got up and looked.) There are two rows of variegated ribbon below the writing. The red pearls are from Queen & Co.

Birdhouses

Well, I didn't do another butterfly card today. I did something that a winged creature would use - birdhouses.
This is a shaker card. The image is from stubby stampers and colored with copics. The frame is done with nestabilities and fun foam. The dp is from basic grey. The shakeables are glitter, beads (most of the rest of the jar ended up on the rug :( unfortunately), and star sequins.

Butterfly

I love butterflies. Look out I may be posting a lot of butterfly cards. lol
This is a large butterfly stamp from stubby stamps. Pretty simple card but pretty.
The image is colored with copics. I had overfilled my gray marker that I was outlining the image with and a big blob came out, hence the flower. But I like the flower. The flower is done with a prima flower with a flower brad from Target in the center. The squiggles on the top and bottom are hand drawn with a white pen. I cut the image in three pieces and layered them on a blue/gray card stock then on the purple paper.  Hope you enjoy.

Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming and I need to get some cards made so I am not racing at the last moment. I got a new poinsettia stamp from Stubby Stampers so I had to try it out. I think I like poinsettia stamps best for Christmas. I love nativity scenes but I rarely  like how they come out.
The image is colored with copics and has stickles applied over the lines. The dp is from bo bunny. The lace was more than I usually like to pay for embellishments but it was so pretty I couldn't resist. The gold dots are dew drops from Robin's Nest.

Now for the next card.
This one was embossed with Egyptian gold embossing powder and then colored with copics. The die cut around the image was done with nestabilities S5-147. It was too long for the image so I cut part of the middle out and then glued it back together so it was the right size to fit around the image. There are red nail head stickers in the corners and the center of the circle.

Fairy Circles

After two late nights at my different jobs I got to play again tonight. My daughter loves fairies so I made this card with her in mind.
I used a fairy stamp from stubby stampers here. She is colored with copics. The wings have some white stella wink covering them for some sparkle. The circle is edged with a blue versa magic chalk ink. The circles are done with nestabilities and then wrapped with silver thread in each indent. Each corner and the headdress that the fairy is wearing have holographic stickers. I debated whether she was sitting on grass or a cloud. I opted for grass but it could definitely be a cloud instead. Love stamps that are versatile.

Imagine

I got some new stamps so of course I had to play. Here is the first card.
The stamp is from stubby stampers here. The image is colored with copics. The word and the butterfly are stickers. I wrapped some ribbon around the layers of card stock. The flowers are prima and some from Michaels with dots of yellow stickles in the center. The gold scallop card stock is metallic. It is a little hard to tell from the photo.
Hope you enjoy.

Stream

I decided to try another brayer card. It is fun using old techniques.
I brayered the background with Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze then stamped a stubby stamper stamp  . I added just a littlc color with copics to the rocks and trees. The stream is highlighted with a white pen and star dust stickles. The trees have flower soft heather on them. The dots were done by running the cardstock through the bigshot with an embossing folder and then using the brayer with denim distress ink. I outlined the blue die cut with the white ink pen. The trim is some I got at Target's One Spot. You never know what you will find there.
