Dragonfly

I just got a bigshot and had to play with it. That and I got some new stamps that I had to play with. The ovals are nestabilities and the corners are sizzix. The dragonfly is from the angel company as is the patterned paper. I stamped the dragonfly on the oval and then again on a scrap piece of cardstock. I colored both and cut out the one from the scrap. It is mounted with tiny strips of foam tape. Then I put diamond glaze over all the dragonfly and sprinkled a little glitter over that. The wings are bent up slightly for the illusion of flight. Dewdrops were put in the corners of the punches. Also I used a marker and added black dots in the middle of the scallops of the white and the patterned paper.

Little Helper

Isn't he just the best helper. He reminds me so much of my son - always doing something. This great stamp is from http://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com/. The dp is basic grey. It is colored with copics and colored pencils. I finally made the switch from Palette Hybrid ink to Memento. What a difference! The hybrid ink would bleed just a little. The memento doesn't.

Sunday's cards

I had never made a z fold card before and I found the directions a bit tricky or as my dd say tricksy. I can be direction impaired sometimes. The first fold is 2 3/4" from the edge and then the second fold is 2 3/4" from that. Fold one side on top of the other so it forms a z with a long leg. I laid the ribbon on top of that and then tied it. The butterfly layer hangs off the fold. The center of the flowers are liquid applique with some glitter on them and then heated. The rest of the glitter is from stickles. The butterfly is stamped in brown and the body colored brown so that it almost looks like a moth instead of a butterfly.

I think this hippo is just too cute. I would probably look like a hippo in a two piece suit. The umbrella is from bmuse. I cut the staff off and the thing on the top and flattened it out to make it lay decently on the card. I added the bauble for the thing on the top.

TAC Fruit Collages

Aren't these just so pretty. I ordered them last week and should have them to play with soon. When I do I'll share. In the mean time if you are interested in them let me know. They are available until June 26th for $10.50 plus a $30.00 order.

True Beauty

This is my color challenge for tomorrow on createacard@yahoogroups.com. It is to be a soft green, yellow, pink and blue card. I made the card and then I decided what the color challenge was going to be. Maybe that is backwards but it works for me. The butterfly collage is from the angel company as are the swirls in the background. I popped the butterfly with foam tape and then added stickles for some glitter. I added the flowers and dew drops because it still looked too flat to me. I made the paper edging with a border punch.

Eiffel Tower

I will always remember my oldest dd playing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. She was just past a year old when we went. I didn't climb the Eiffel Tower because I wasn't too sure about going all that way up with her on my back. Anyway I stamped the tower on cardstock then stamped the circle on a piece of acetate. I sewed the acetate on to a piece of dp with the tower in the middle. I stamped the arrow and cut it out and glued it on. I added a heart charm and the pearl baubles for extra interest. The stamps are all from the angel company. The dp is from Basic Grey. All the embellishments are from http://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com/

Hydrangea

I love hydrangeas. I have four in my front yard, however only 3 seem to bloom - those are the endless summer ones. I get to see them all summer. It makes me smile. So this card is made with that in mind. The hydrangea stamps are discontinued from the angel company. One stamp is the outline and the other is the filler. I stamped this using versamagic chalk ink. I used a pin to make an embellishment in the ribbon ala Susan Dube (I love her work). The flower centers are done with diamond glaze and a yellow glitter.

An Owly Card

I haven't had time to create forever. Maybe soon things will calm down and I can start to create again. I used a border punch on both sides of a strip of paper to create the "lace". I added some pearl baubles. I stamped a tree on the decorative paper by basic grey. I colored the owl with prisma color pencils and then cut her out and mounted her with foam tape.
