Chinese Tilda

This is my second post of the day. If you haven't looked at the Edwin in the post below please do so.

This lovely little Tilda was done with distress ink except for her hair. I didn't have any black distress ink (do they make it? I don't know). The hair was done with an impress marker and then a bit of china black twinkling H2O. Some pink stickles were added to the flowers on the dress and the sandals. Crystal stickles were used on the trim of the kimono. The dp's are fro different collections by basic grey.
This card was done for three different challenges:
Happy Birthday on Magnolia-licious Highlights here.
Pink on Stampacular Sunday challenge here.
Just one on Papertake Weekly here.
Hope you enjoy her.

Piano Edwin

I made this card for our music director at church. He is a phenomenal piano player. He also teaches voice and piano. I did cut off Edwin's wings because I wasn't quite sure he would like those.  As I was doing this and thinking about making guy cards I was musing about other Edwins I would like to see. How about handy man Edwin or camper Edwin or how about a motorcyclist Edwin. As much as I love Tilda it would be fun to see some more Edwins doing different things.
Edwin was colored with copics. I think I need some more grey stamps as it was a challenge to do the black hair and pants, but I think it worked just the same. The music is done with a stamp from Me & Carrie Lou. I know someone recently bought this line of stamps but I can't find them just now. The vase is from a gift with purchase from the angel company. The vase has diamond glaze applied. The dp is from basic grey - black tie and jack collections. The red dots are nail heads.

Hurrying Tilda

I used the same Tilda as on the post before but with different papers and layout. I really like both of them maybe you can decide which is better.
This Tilda is paper pieced - her hat, dress, shoes and suitcase are all paper pieced using papers from the capella collection by basic grey. Shading, the face, hair and flower are all done with copics. Check out the turtle crawling out from under the flowers. That is a little post earring my daughter gave me because she was never going to wear it.  This card was done for two challenges - Just Magnolia here using their layout and for the stamping scrapping challenge center here to do paper piecing.  Hope you are having a fantastic day.

Traveling Tilda

Life seems to be hurrying on whether I like it or not. My youngest went off to college this week leaving me an empty nester. Now it is just the dog and two cats to rattle around in this big house. We'll see where life leads me now. Well just like life this Tilda is hurrying on also.

Just like all the Tilda isn't she just too cute. She is colored all in copics. The dp is from the basic grey collection eva. The roses are colored in the same colors as Tilda's dress - R81, R83, R 85 (or at least that is what my memory tells me. I put them all away before I wrote them done). The little swirls at the corners of Tilda are from a retired set by the angel company. The rhinestones are from Queen & Co.  Little sprigs of pearls are around the bow and roses. I made this card for the two's better than one challenge over at Spectacular Sunday Challenge here.

Hope you enjoy.

Sunflower

Aren't sunflowers just so happy. I love this stamp because it has a house mouse, which I love, in a sunflower. I wish my sleep was as blissful as this little mouse's seems to be.
This card was done for the house mouse challenge to use red, yellow and orange together. Go here to see the challenge. The dp is from bo bunny. I heard it was being discontinued but I got several sheets as I love red and yellow together. You should see my kitchen (well maybe you shouldn't as it is a mess right now. lol) This is colored with copics. The sunflower has stickles on it and the seeds have diamond glaze. The paper lace was done with a fiskars punch. The edge of the white paper has persimmon chalk ink rubbed on. There are three dew drops from Robin's Nest near the bottom.
Hope you enjoy.

Traveling Tilda

I finally got this card done. Somehow life is so busy. Right now I should be going to work but I wasn't feeling very well earlier. I am beginning to feel better now, but am still staying home.  Tilda is off on a trip. I wonder where she is going. With the flowers maybe she is going to Kuekenhoff (sp) in Holland or maybe the Busch Gardens here in the states. Wherever she is going I hope she has a great time.

At first I had Tilda's dress very light but it didn't look right with the darker suitcases so I took some darker BG copics and made her dress a darker color and that looked better. Tilda's shoes and the hardware on the suitcases all have diamond glaze on them. The flower and the trim on the hat have stickles on them. The bow is done with scrappers floss. There are a couple of rhinestones from Queen & Co. The dp is from the basic grey wisteria collection. This card is done for the 7 Kids Challenge to use only two different dps here. And also for the buttons and bows challenge at Stamptacular Challenge here. And for the turquoise and brown challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge here.

Sailor Edwin

I have to say I stamp lifted this card but I don't know from whom. I kept the idea in my mind but not who did it; I'm sorry. I'm doing this for the challenge over on Magnolia Stamp Lovers here for their challenge to use Edwin. He is such a cute guy and we don't seem to use him enough.
I also used the pelican and ship scene from this collection. The Magnolia animals are as cute as Edwin and Tilda. Everything is colored with copics. At first I did the sky in all blues and then decided it was just too blue. lol So I added some R00 and V000 to give a bit more pizzaz. The ocean has stickles and blue rhinestones in it.  The port hole has eyelets all around it. The knot is a square knot done by my Eagle Scout son because I am knot challenged. The binacular has diamond glaze on it. btw this Edwin is called binacular Edwin or Edwin with binaculars.  I would love for you to leave a comment they really add to the fun of blogging.

Traveling Girl

I made this card for the girl that I made the afghan for (see post below). You can get this stamp at Susana's store here. It's called safe travel and is by Victoria Case. Doesn't she look like she is going to have a fabulous time. She is colored in copics. Her eyes, purse, shoes and hat bow have diamond glaze applied. You can't really see it but I stamped the hat an extra time and popped it up for some more dimension.  Well better get this posted before my internet dies again. They are supposed to come this morning and fix it.

Knitting

Just thought I would share the knitting project I just finished. Knitting is my usual activity on the bus when I am going downtown to work.  Knitting is the only creative project I can do on the bus. All my other crafts have way too many parts to come along on a crowded bus.
This was created for my dd's friend who is going off to college on Saturday. My dd is sad because she has to wait another week and a half before she goes. I still haven't decided how I feel about my baby going off to school without me and to my alma mater.  So many memories.

Wonder and Joy Kids

My internet has been down most of the day and yesterday so this will be a quick post because I am sure it will go down again. They were supposed to send someone out today but didn't. These two cards are from the wonder and joy set by the angel company and use the dp from the miss moxie set. I drew in the brick wall the little girl is sitting on. Hope you enjoy. The little boy is done for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge here to do a card about snips and snails and puppy dog tails.
