Love and Laughter

I saw this really cool technique in an on-line magazine and just had to try it. I even woke this morning thinking just how I was going to do it. You know you are a die-hard stamper when you start dreaming about stamping. lol

I had a hard time getting this just right because I was stamping the image first and then trying to do the reflection in the water. Once I reread the instructions and found that I was doing it backwards it worked great. So how is this all done. First I cut out a circle and laid it on the glossy paper and brayered over it using blue breeze kaleidacolor (That was the first problem - finding my brayer which I hadn't used in forever lol). I brayered one layer and then turned it around and did another layer going in the opposite direction. On the bottom layer I didn't go over it quite so much because I wanted it to look a little wavy like water. I took off the mask of the circle and put on the hole of the circle and stippled yellow for the sun or moon. Next I stamped up the tree from the angel company's love and laughter set and brayered over the stamp and then used the brayer to put the ink on the glossy paper. I carefully looked where the trunk started and where I wanted it to land on the paper. Then I inked the stamp again and stamped the stamp onto the glossy paper over where the brayered image was. Next I used a white pen and put some lines in the water and then put stardust stickles in the water as well. I put some more stickles on the moon or sun. I can't decide which I think it is. And that is about it. A layer of gold paper on a black card and a three square brads at the bottom. Hope you enjoyed the technique and I hope I explained it well. If you have any questions just ask.
Oh I forgot to say I used a gray Bic marker and made a line at the horizon.

Wilma

Surprisingly this is my second post for the day. It is so hot I am just lounging in my studio until it is time to go to work this evening. Someone at Target gave me a sympathy card for when my dog had to go to doggie heaven and it touched me so I wanted to do a thank you card for her.

Of course I had to use a dog image for the card. This one is Wilma from Magnolia. She is colored with copics. The flower was stamped a second time and popped up with foam tape. The bow has a thin layer of diamond glaze on it to make it appear shiny. The ribbon bow was tied with the bow-easy. A few dew drops in the corners and a flower in the last one finish it off. The dp is blush from basic grey.
Thanks for looking.

Christmas in July

The weather certainly isn't like Christmas but it is time to start getting ready for making things for Christmas in July. I know I never have enough time in December to do all the things I want so getting my Christmas cards done early really helps, not that I always do it.

I was getting ready to cut out my new stamps from the angel company and was looking at this stamp and suddenly it said poinsettia to me. This flower stamp is from the Katy set. The words are from the retired set faith, hope and love. The flower is colored with copics. The leaves were inked with aloe vera and hint of pesto and cut out and glued to the back of the flower. The center is yellow stickles. The dp is from the angel company's Amelia paper set.
Have a great day and hope you stay cool.

Potty Girl

It is so hot here; I am wishing for winter. I don't do heat and I don't do pain. lol Oh well, sometimes you just have to endure.
This little girl is doing just fine. She looks pretty cool while she sits. I saw a card done on Barb's blog today and just had to get over to Mo's pencil drawings here to get her.

When I saw this image I thought of my cousin and made it for her. She is colored with copics. The dp is from basic grey. The buttons were cut out using a die from memory box. They don't add a lot of bulk or a lot of weight. I did use an extra layer of paper behind the dp and then put some diamond glaze on the buttons. The saying I made up and did on the computer. Here is the inside.

Hope you enjoy and say cool.

Hoppy Birthday

I am so excited. My son came home yesterday and got rid of the virus on my desktop. I am so thankful I had the netbook to use but my desktop is so much better for full time use. Thank you, David.
On to my card.

This card used almost everything available from the angel company. The frog and sentiment use a stamp set you can get free by purchasing $100.00 worth of goodies. The flower is from a set called Katie. The dp is from the paper set called Emma. The images are all colored with copics. The flower leaves and stem were done by first inking with Tea Leaves Versa Magic Chalk ink and then just inking the lower part of the leaves with hint of pesto Versa Magic Chalk ink and then stamping on a piece of tannish paper in the Emma set. Hoppy Birthday is stamped with the hint of pesto. A few star dust stickles were applied on the frog, flower and the tag flowers. To figure out how to color the frog I did a search for frog images on line to find a colorful frog I liked and tried to color it like the image. Hope you enjoy this card. Don't you just love these new stamp sets.

Baby Tingla

I have had this stamp for quite some time. I had to have it when it first came out but then no one was having any babies so this is the first chance I have had to use it.

This little angel is colored with copics and has stardust stickles on the lace and wings. The hearts are done with nestabilities and edged with ocean blue chalk ink. The dots on the one heart are done with Scribbles. I know there are cool new ways to make small pearls but I haven't broken down and bought any yet. lol. The light dp is from basic grey and the darker one is from memory box. The little flower is three layers of different paper flowers are had on hand with a dew drop in the middle.
Have a great day. It is my bedtime so like little Tingla I am going to go lay my head down.

Sweet Wishes

My oldest dd has a birthday on Sunday and she always liked house mouse stamps so I thought I would make her a house mouse card.

These cute little mice were all colored with copics as is everything. Then when I finished coloring it all I added a white prisma color pencil over everything in the bowl. The lollipops on the outside have diamond glaze on them. There are streaks of stardust stickles on the bowl where the light would be hitting it. The dp is from sweet threads by basic grey. Added scrapper's floss around the ribbon to create a bow.
Here is a picture of the inside.

The sweet on the front on the inside I wrote.
Have a sweet day.

Edwin Hugs

My computer has a virus so I am using my netbook. I don't know how to adjust pictures on it so I am not sure how this will look but we will give it a try.

Edwin is colored with copics. The dp is from the retired black tie from basic grey. I roughed up the edges a bit and sewed with red thread around the edge. I tied a ribbon around the paper and tied a knot on the button. The image and red paper were cut out with nestabilities and then white dots were added to the red nestabilities. That's it. I sure hope to be back with my computer soon. My son should be home this weekend to fix it.

ship

I seem to be on a nautical kick. This time I am using a retired stamp from the angel company. It is a kinda of a mix between formal and informal - not sure if it works.  You be the judge.

I colored this with copics. The water has some stickles. The scallops are from a nestilibilites die cut with white dots. Can't remember where the flag and water scallop dies are from and the cat is on my lap and doesn't want to be disturbed. lol. Ribbon and charm are added around the water.
Here is a picture of  the inside.

The letters are also from the angel company but I wrote i the "appy" "irthday"  myself. Let me know what you think.

Seascape

I really should be going to bed but I just had to share what I created tonight. I haven't had time to do much creating lately as I was rearranging my studio. It still isn't completed but I had to stop and stamp. The stamps are from Magnolia and perfect for guy cards. The ship scene was stamped, colored with copics, accented with stickles then left to dry. Two more images were stamped. One was colored just around the port hole and both portholes were cut out. A piece of acetate is in between the two portholes and the put over the ship but under the waves which were cut with an X-acto knife.  Some more stickles were added to the waves. Nailhead stickers are on the porthole. A nestabilitiy die was used to cut out the dark blue. The pelican is a Magnolia stamp also and colored with copics. Red nailhead stickers are in the corners and the other corner has a silver circle clip. Hope you enjoy this creation. And as always I really do appreciate your comments.
I entered this card in the 7 kids challenge red, white and blue blog here.

Wishing Well

This stamp is from another on-line stamping buddy, Kim. Isn't is just so cute. Here is the card I made with it.

It is all colored with copics. The tails have liquid applique applied to them. The money has stardust stickles and the jar has diamond glaze. The corners are punched and star brads were added. It is for the birthday of a little boy who was born on the 4th of July so of course it is red, white and blue.
Hope you have a great Independence Day if you live in the USA. Mine will be rather quiet but maybe I will have time to clean and craft.
