Flying Tilda 2

I decided I didn't really like the card in the last post so I decided to add some flowers and like it better. See what you think.

Flying Tilda

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted anything. Life just seems to have been so busy. I don't see it slowing down anytime soon either. Here is a card I made yesterday using Flying Tilda.

I used a sketch from the magazine Through the Craft Room Door. This Tilda is colored with prisma color pencils instead of copic markers (I had a non stamping friend ask me what copics are so I thought maybe I should use markers in my description for anyone else who might not know.) The wings have Forget Me Not glitter from the Art Glittering System on them. I didn't glue the wings down because I thought it looked more like she was flying if they were sticking up a bit. There is a touch of stickles on Tilda's dress - fairies need glitter. The dew drops are from Robin's Nest. The edges are distressed with Tim Holtz's little distressing tool. The edges of the scalloped oval (nestabilities) and the half circle are done with bella rose palette ink. The dp is from the perhaps collection by basic grey.

Certifiably Nuts

Certifiably nuts is what I called myself when I finished this project of an explosion box. I don't know what I am going to do with it now but it is certainly adorable. I did it for a challenge from Magnolicous Birthday bash here. The boxes that I have seen are so wonderful. You Ladies did a super job.

Here is my top using Longing Tilda:

I stamped Dream twice using two different shades of purples. The little flowers are punches from other parts of the project. The dp is Euphoria from basic grey. Tilda is colored with Copics.

Here is the front using Wilma. You can see the punch I used around the lid of the top. That 's where the punch-outs come from on the sides.

Of course what has Tilda been dreaming of? Well that comes next on the inside.

What little girl doesn't dream of becoming a ballerina. You can see that Wilma was throwing flowers at Tilda's feet. Here is a close-up of Tilda.

I originally left the corners in but decided it was too fussy that way so I cut them out. Tilda has a rhinestone in her tiara, stickles on her dress and diamond glaze on her shoes. Here is a close up of the floor.

What a wonderful project but I still need to figure out what to do with it.

Tilda Tubing

After I had beach Tilda I decided it would be better to have her tube also and then I got to thinking about a scene so I got the snow scene. A snow scene and beach Tilda? Yes, I just made it a summer scene and I think it works. You decide.

I didn't keep track of what colors I used because I kept changing things around and lost track. At first I had Tilda sitting on the stones on shore but she was too close to the trees and light post and things just looked out of perspective. This worked better. Distress Ink Tilda

I was playing with distress inks to see what means of coloring I liked best. I don't have the reinkers just the ink pads. I have used a wet brush and picked up the ink off the pad before and that works fine but I read about using a dove blender pen so I decided to try it. I don't know if it was the pad or the rough coldpress paper but that method seemed to be messing up my blender pen. Then I tried stamping the ink on an acrylic block and picking the ink from there with a wet brush. I don't know why but I seemed to get a more concentrated color doing that. 

Here is the card I made coloring with the distress inks.

Tilda's dress is colored with lavender ink, the flowers and cheeks with spun sugar, leaves with peeled paint, face with tattered rose, hair with scattered straw and a touch of brushed corduroy. Tilda's shoes, flowers and kerchief all have stickles on them. Those are purple nail head stickers on the white ribbon. The black dp is from the retired black tie basic grey collection. The flowered dp is from the wisteria basic grey collection. The words are from a retired set from the angel company. Then a few different kinds of pearls are strewn around. Lady Tilda

I wanted to use some of my new Magnolia stamps tonight before the new ones I ordered came in. That is my last order for a long time. I swear it is. lol

I decided to use Lady Tilda and the open gate. I wasn't going to get Lady Tilda but I saw so many wonderful cards using her I just had to have her.

Lady Tilda's dress is paper pieced using Alyssa Sweet Pea collection from basic grey. The blue background is from the Jack Sweet Pea collection. Both are now retired. I wanted to make the card more of a shabby chic look so I distressed the edges and kept the colors light. The blue rhinestones are from Queen & Co. I used up the last of my blue organza ribbon on this. I never know how I feel about using my supplies up.

I popped Tilda with foam tape for more dimension.

Beach Tilda

  Hope you are having a great Mother's Day. Mine is quiet - two of my dd's have to work, one is in NY and my son is giving me my present - mowing my large lawn while he is home this weekend.  

I just got some new Magnolia stamps so I had to ink this bathing beauty up. I haven't even finished using the last ones I got and I have more coming. I think I have an addiction because I am making a list of more to get.

 It certainly isn't warm enough to swim here but hopefully soon.  This is beach Tilda and she is colored with copics. Her hair bows are tied from floss - at least my cross stitch supplies are getting some use.  The paper is from the catelyn collection by the angel company.  The ribbon and brads in the center of the  flowers are from the see spot save section at Target. The rose is sprayed with cherry blossom walnut ink.  Stickles are on the flowers, the water and parts of the swimsuit. The little bits of yellow by Tilda's hands are supposed to look like sand. I don't know if it really does or not though. I made it by using polar white flower soft and mixing it with a couple of drops of butterscotch alcohol ink.  The dragonfly charm is one my dd had when she was doing hair wraps. That went by the wayside so I inherited her supply of charms.

Two kids

My first card for today is using a stamp from the Wonder and Joy set by the angel company. I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it but just finally got around to stamping it. (Magnolias are a passion just now). Isn't she too cute. Colored with copics. The paper is from the angel company also - Catelyn. The card is a square piece of scalloped paper from DCWV folded in half. There is some diamond glaze on the balloon. Buttons tied with scrappers floss are in the corner.

Couldn't go without showing a Magnolia stamp - another Edwin. He has such a thoughtful look on his face.

Peach Tilda

I started this card last night and had everything all laid out waiting for Tilda to dry. I came back in and was looking at it and thinking it looks pretty much like fall when my dd (who doesn't like Tilda by the way) comes in and wonders why I was making a fall card in May. Oops time to change strategies. Here is the first one that wasn't glued down. 

I'll save the card and corners and add a different image in the fall. Here is what I came up with the second time.

Tilda is colored in copics. There is stickles on the trim and the dots on the dress and on the background. Angel Wings shimmerz is painted on the peaches. The floral background is from K & company that I have had for ages and I don't know where the green corners are from.  The flower is sprayed with Terra Cotta and Pink Walnut ink with some stickles added.

Chasing Edwin

Poor Edwin is so neglected. I don't have many of him and don't use him as often as the Tildas. 

I colored Edwin in copics but didn't keep track of which ones. I had such a pile out I finally had to put them away so I had room to work. The butterfly and ladybug stamp is from Great Impressions. Stickles were applied to the net and the squiggles around the bugs. The dp is from Oh Baby Boy by basic grey. The green paper is from dcwv. The card is sanded around the edges. The white paper and green around Edwin is distressed. I thought a boy card really needed some distressing. I used three different copic colors around Edwin just trying to put dots down and then went over it all with the blender pen.  The grass is done by starting at the bottom and the flicking up so that there is a point at the top like grass. Then I put dots of colors in the grass for flowers.
